Elix-IRR publishes : “Banking Reform – Obstacle or Opportunity?”

At the end of 2011 the ‘Vickers’ Report’ from the Independent Commission on Banking in the United Kingdom produced a number of recommendations that are likely to come into legislation within the next few years. In their latest White Paper, Elix-IRR’s Stephen Jennett summarises the three main recommendations, assesses the impact of each and identifies some Principal Considerations that Banking Executives must address in preparation for the new environment that is on the horizon.
Now, in 2012, planning and preparation is critical.
Banks should look to move quickly – being the ‘first mover’ in a more competitive environment will certainly bring advantages, but requires investment. Ensuring the right operating model is in place will provide a solid foundation for change. Through all this, controlling cost, effort and risk will be balanced against maintaining quality through transition. How will your organisation respond?
